Sentiments of A Pluviophile

Never actually identified as a pluviophile
Just loved however rain came
Drizzles or pours
Loved how when we were little
we would run and play
Drenched and laughing
oblivious to the imminence of colds.
Love how I have to get warm now
A blankie, a hoodie, tea, books, music.
How the world seems to stop
And focus on that moment
“It’s raining, stop everything and run inside”
I think of the homeless
I hope they are okay.
I think of the funny myth
that rain is angel tears
I know it’s not true,
but imagination never hurt anyone
I hope they are okay.
I think of people who work in the rain
Like farmer, toiling so we can eat
I hope they’re okay.
Rain inspires many feelings;
drowsiness, desire, inspiration.
Above all though
It brings the calm.
Funny how something can be so loud
yet so peaceful.
